Content
“Dança por Correio” means “Dance by Mail” in Portuguese. In this show, we have six break dancers dressed as postmen. They walk, run, jump, and dance through the streets of the city, zooming through the public spaces. The audience consists of everyone who is following the group or just passing by. The sidewalk, the shop facades, streetlights and the signs turn into a stage (or a playground?). The public is invited to choose a letter containing texts, poems, and tasks. The letters are invitations for the crowd to interact and participate in the play.
These postmen in this dancy “work shift”, share the city with us and invite us to look more carefully to the paths that we (may) think we already know. “Dança por Correio” is a package that is delivered through letters, movement, and togetherness. And who knows? Maybe there is a letter for you!
