One day, out of nowhere, it appears: a tired and dusty creature. Pushing a suitcase in front of it, it encounters Rabbit, Bird and Fox, who just happen to be nearby. Suspicious and curious at the same time, they observe the strange creature. Where does it come from? What does it want? But their greatest interest is in the suitcase. What could be inside? A cup, a table, a chair and a small kitchenette, the creature replies before falling asleep from sheer exhaustion. ‘Impossible!’ the three agree and in no time at all they set about the suitcase.
Antonia Brix’s production follows the picture book by British author Chris Naylor-Ballesteros and, like the original, uses only a few sentences. Through powerful atmospheric images and poetically playful sounds, the four actors tell a story of being a stranger and arriving, of making mistakes and the power of forgiveness.
