Der Hoffnungsvogel
by Kirsten Boie as a musical tale
adapted by Christian Schönfelder and Grete Pagan
Premiere: 09.11.2024
Content
In the Happy Land, nothing is as it used to be: people are unhappy, they are sad, they are in a bad mood and only care about themselves. Is it because the bird of hope that gives everyone comfort and confidence with its song has disappeared? Jabu, the prince, sets off to find the bird despite his fears and doubts. Fortunately, he gets help from Alva, the lighthouse keeper’s daughter, who at least knows how to steer a ship. Together, the two set off on their adventure – accompanied by an invigorating melody.
Together with musicians Hêja Netirk and Carlos Rico, JES develops a light and sensual musical narrative about big questions: How do we want to live together? Do people lose their humanity when they no longer feel confident? Which melody gives you hope?
