The Arbeitskreis Junges Theater Baden-Württemberg is an association of state theatres, municipal and independent theatres that produce professional theatre for children and young people in Baden-Württemberg. Every year, the work group meets for a one-week training event, the “work meeting”. This work meeting takes place every two years as part of SCHÖNE AUSSICHT.

The topic of this year’s work meeting is “interdisciplinarity”. For the first time, the artistic contributions were selected by the committee of the work group itself on the basis of specific questions previously submitted by the member theatres. Examples of these questions are: What role will/should digital media play in children’s and youth theatre (in post-pandemic times)? What production conditions do we need to create to enable an interdisciplinary play development (e.g. through the authorship of actors)? Do interdisciplinary projects enable more possibilities for identification for young audiences? And many more questions.

Eight productions from Stuttgart, Tübingen, Lörrach, Freiburg, Mannheim, Karlsruhe and Aalen will be performed. In discussion rounds, theatre producers will give each other feedback, share their experiences and receive new input in various workshops. International guest performances will provide further sources of inspiration.
